Trick or treat! One that I would recommend is Doctor Sleep-- it's a sequel to The Shining, but rather than the evil hotel, the main villains are like essence vampires who target children who have the "Shining"/same psychic ability/potential as the (now grown up) Danny does. There's plenty of call-backs to the original, though!
